Reports To: CEO

Classification: Full-Time Salary/ Non-exempt Status

Job Summary
Accountant will support the Company with bookkeeping and processing payroll. This role is driven to perform their job duties by utilizing their exceptional attention to detail, an analytical mind, and a passion for precision.

Essential Functions
    • Understands full cycle of accounting procedures.
    •  Full charge of company bookkeeping.
    • Manage daily sales and operations of accounting department.
    • Maintain cash flow by monitoring bank balances and submit the report to upper management.
    • Ensure the security and proper handling of financial business transactions.
    • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
    • Meet accounting operational standards by contributing financial information to strategic plans.
    • Conduct reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy.
    • Meet accounting operational standards by contributing financial information to strategic plans.
    • Resolve problems and identify system improvements.
    • Support the CPA by providing information and answers.
    • Daily processing of journal entries for contributed revenue.
    • Process and pay all company bills through check, wire, & ACH, and keep track of all payment due dates
    • Prepare and analyze the accounting records and provide F/S for upper management.
    • Prepares payroll and responds to payroll related inquiries in timely manner.
    • Researches and maintains compliance with federal, state and local labor laws and regulations for payroll purposes.
    • Process / Review payroll for both retail and corporate.
    • Perform compliances for unclaimed property payroll checks.¬
    • Work with store managers to monitor time keeping for employees and hold both managers and employees accountable 
         for properly recording their time.
    • Run bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly payroll reports.
    • Set up garnishments in payroll system and track until completion.
    • Researches and maintains compliance with federal, state and local labor laws and regulations for payroll purposes.
    • Maintain payroll records as regulated by federal and state laws and maintain confidentiality of these files
    • Assist employees and management with questions, concerns and requests regarding payroll
    • Ensure compliance and adhere to company’s policies relating but not limited to processing of wages, sick/vacation time, 
         leaves of absence.
    • Prepare the Workers Compensation insurance payroll data for the annual audit.
    • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W2, etc.).
    • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
    • Communication with vendors and prepare the information if needed.
    • Other accounting and payroll related duties as assigned.

Availability
Must be able to work various schedules that often include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Required Training
    • Strong organizational abilities.
    • Harassment Prevention Training minimum of 1 hour.

Physical Demands of the Job
    • A well-groomed and professional appearance (compliant with Wafflejack Uniform Standard). 
    • Remain stationary for long periods of time, work with agility, and occasionally for long hours.
    • Hazards may include, but not are limited to, slipping and tripping.
    • Ability to communicate in spoken English; must be able to see, hear, and speak.

Work Experience
    • 3 years experience in bookkeeping and accounting.
    • 2-3 years experience in payroll.
    • Experience with ADP preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
    • Knowledge of QuickBooks.
    • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
    • Exceptional organizational skills.
    • Ability to follow through on commitments to meet deadline.
